Dear colleagues,
I wonder if you can advise me on the type of liability insurance that is needed to cover the deputy QPPV/ QPPV role for a pharmaceutical company (i.e. based in Ireland) in Europe and the cover needed? Currently, we have the EU-QPPV role outsourced to a specialised firm but we are considering taking it in house.
We are considering bring the deputy-QPPV role in house first, do you forsee any issues with this?
Do you know any reliable insurance company that covers this type of insurance?
Thank you in advance.
Dear Member
Please note that the response to your query represents the opinions formed from a consensus of the PIPA Committee, but do not represent their employing companies. These responses are intended as guidance. Please also refer to guidelines and your own company procedures.
EU QPPV’s would require professional indemnity insurance as they are personally responsible for the PV system.
There are some specialist insurers out there that offer this, check the January PIPELINE edition for one such company’s advertisement.
With regards to bringing in house the deputy EU QPPV role and remain with an out sourced EU QPPV; this is a well-trodden road. You will need to ensure that there is clear and documented communication, including back-up processes, absence cover etc. between the parties.
Kind regards
PIPA
